This past weekend our Team Corral competed in the IBJJF completion at Chicago State University.
Let me tell ya. Competition is C-R-A-Z-Y!
I learned a few things too. When it is an IBJJF competition, they all speak Portuguese. Why? Cause all the officials come from Brazil! Since most of us don’t speak Portuguese, they have hand signals. And you MUST know them or you could be Disqualified. Holy bells I tell ya!
It was a fun time for us. We took the boys and had them watch our teammates so that they would understand all the “moves” they are learning and that if they ever compete, this is where they would use them.
The gentleman with his hand being raised is our teammate. He placed 2nd in the competition.

A few of our teammates hanging out.
The gentleman at the far end is our Sensei.
He is a Black Belt in Brazilian Jui Jitsu and a Black Belt in TaeKwonDo.
Our next competition is in May and our boys won’t be doing it. But soon I hope. If not, I’m okay with that too. We like to support those who compete even if competitions aren't for us.
Keep up the good work Fellas!
