I know this is generally about homeschooling, but this is about us.. our family and well we like food and with trying to change our lifestyle, I wanted to blog about some of the recipes I made for this week.
I made unstuffed pepper soup with turkey. I used brown jasmine rice, green peppers, tomatoes, onions, garlic, tomato juice from my grandmother. You can use tomato paste and add water. You don’t want added sugar.
Hence using grandma's as she doesn’t add anything :) yeah for canning.
Cook rice according to package. Brown the turkey, drain, remove from pan. Add the onions, garlic, green peppers and tomatoes. Give it about 5 minutes, then throw it in a stock pot. Add turkey, tomato juice/paste water and rice, simmer about 10 minutes. Eat! I loved this.. My boys did too. This is what the pot looked like:

I had no leftovers so I was bummed about that. Oh well! At least I know they like it and I can make it again. Go me!
