A New Plan for My Life

Daniel Fast is typically someone who chooses to undergo a Daniel Fast demonstrates a physical commitment to pursue a closer relationship with the Lord.

Churches and people partake generally the first of the year. So my church started today. For me, I am making a lifestyle change.

This year it is not just a fast, but a plan.  A lifestyle plan and change. This year though, we’ve decided to really make this a big corporate thing. Our pastor has asked that the first day of our fast as a church we start Monday {today} doing the liquid fast. Not everyone can, but he has then asked try for just one meal. The purpose of a Daniel fast is not to hider your body, but to help it and to grow closer to God.

I am starting the Daniel Plan. According to the Daniel Plan website,   “The Daniel Plan is a groundbreaking healthy lifestyle program founded on biblical principles and focused on The Essentials: Faith, Food, Fitness, Focus and Friends.” Click here to read more about the Daniel Plan.

Another good thing, I am not the only one starting! I have an entire family who is doing it as well. That means when I go to their home, I won’t be tempted, they will be eating the same way! I just can’t help but be happy about this. It is a wonderful thing.

This isn’t just another “diet”. This is a way to improve upon what God has said, nurture my relationship with Him and maintain and healthy lifestyle. This is a forever thing. It doesn’t mean that I can’t have sweets. It just means I need to ask myself how much harder do I want to work to lose that weight I gain or to work harder to remove the calories.

If I trust in God, then I am happy and have no need to fill that void. Life isn’t always easy or peachy keen. However, God is always there, always waiting to listen, to guide to LOVE and to keep us happy. He is our water, our bread, our life.

Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger,

and he who believes in Me will never thirst. John 6:35

One thing I hope to learn and gain knowledge of is who Christ is and what he truly wants from me. I cannot say us, because each of us has our own path to walk. I can ask for guidance and I will and I do.

I ask that as each of us go about our day that we look to see what God is trying to say or do. Listen with ears open and eyes that can see God’s path.

It seems with the new year brings new goals, resolutions. Mine is to be a greater woman in God and to try to live a life closer to that of a Proverbs Woman.

What about you? What is your goal?
