Ready for some FOOTBALL!!!!.


Sundays are a time to relax, not do what you normally do every other day of the week.
Thank goodness for FOOTBALL!!!!
The Thingamajiggers household LOVES football. We are a Packer (daddy) family and a Colts family (mommy). Today we get to see both teams play each other!
One of my favorite things here lately is to look at Pinterest and find some great ideas.
Here is a list of things I found that I am going to do today to ensure we have fun.
For the Kids to help keep them occupied during the game:
3 dinosaurs has a great pack that the boys can do while sitting in from of the Couch watching football. She also has a Do-A-Dot pages as well.
( never sure if I can use their picture to link back to their page, so I just use hyperlinks. If anyone knows the answer, please let me know)
2 teaching Mommies has some great counting books with footballs and jerseys. The ladies over there also have a wonderful Football pack as well.
Now for the FOOD! The best part of Football:

Then some AWESOME chili to round out all the non good stuff!
Here’s my chili recipe:

Ingredients

  • 1 pounds ground beef
  • 1 pound sausage
  • 6 cloves garlic, chopped
  • One 8-ounce can tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
  • One 15-ounce can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • One 15-ounce can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • Shredded Cheddar, for serving
  • Chopped onions, for serving
  • Tortilla chips, for serving

Directions

Place the ground beef  a sausage in a large pot and throw in the garlic. Cook over medium heat until browned. Drain off the excess fat, and then pour in the tomato sauce, chili powder, cumin, oregano, salt and we pepper. Stir together well, cover, and then reduce the heat to low. Simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. If the mixture becomes overly dry, add 1/2 cup water at a time as needed.
Add the beans and simmer for 10 minutes. Serve with shredded Cheddar, chopped onions, tortilla chips and any other toppings you like.
What a great way to end a Sunday.
