( a bit long, a bit rambly)
I cannot believe the football game. What a win by the Denver Broncos. Now I am not a Broncos fan. I am however, a Peyton Manning fan. I have been ever since he first appeared in the Indianapolis Colts lineup.
I wonder how many people watched that game all the way to the end? How many watched Manning fight a good fight?
It is great to see an underdog come back and win. It is how we are most programmed, to win.
We’ve seen some pretty weird things in the land of football. Crazy calls, replacement refs, then the real refs, and fans wanting the replacements back.
Why aren’t we this passionate about the one thing that matters most? If all those same people who root for the underdog, root for Christ and give it their all, how much better would we be?
I realize we are in a time close to our end here on earth. God is giving us the chance to look towards him for our needs, hopes, and soon for our heavenly place.
As a mom of three boys, I pray every day that I am giving them the tools and the fight to grab a hold of God and stick up for him. To be the boys/men that God wants them to be. It isn’t easy. They are boys and boys are meant to protect and be warriors - so they get feisty~antsy~stubborn. It is who they are.
Just think how much more we could be if we lived our lives like the second half of the Denver-San Diego game. Who would come out first in your life?
Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
As we are in the last days of our world, keep faith that God knows what he is doing. Knows that we have loved ones who have fallen away or haven’t received salvation. He knows how are day is going to be ordered before we do and when we stumble, just reach out, grab his hand and hold on tight.
He never promised an easy path, just a path that he would guide and be there with you (us) when we stumble and fall.
